Let's Get Spicy Series: Intro

Since I launched my online shop several weeks ago and started selling my spice blends at my local farmers' market, I've been getting A LOT of questions from people wondering what they should do with them. It has been a good reminder that not everyone spends basically every waking moment thinking about food the way I do and that, especially in times of stress, experimenting with new flavors is not high on most people's list of priorities. But while go-to comfort foods are great, I would argue that there may be no better time to try a new dish or flavor profile than now, when EVERY DAY FEELS EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE BEFORE.
So, over the next several weeks, in a series I'm calling "Let's Get Spicy," I'll be introducing you to my lineup of spice blends. You'll get a little bit of the history behind each blend, a story or two of how I first discovered them or what inspired them, some non-recipe-recipes for when you don't have the time or interest to get too involved in cooking, and some full-blown recipes for when you really want to dig in.
Ultimately, I developed my spice blends not for my chef friends but for my friends and family who are new to cooking or who are unsure of themselves in the kitchen because I truly believe that cooking doesn't have to be scary and that food can transport you - even when you're stuck at home.
Now grab your apron, pour yourself a glass of wine, and crank up some cooking music, because we're about to go on a culinary adventure! Let's Get Spicy!
