Happy Hump Day, Fam!! I've got not one but TWO things to brighten your Wednesday morning. That's right!! I've got TWO new spice blends in the lineup, and I think y'all are going to love them!! Please allow me to introduce...
Kind of a Big Dill - As a pickle fiend, it was only a matter of time before I created a blend inspired by pickling spices. This is a tangy, garlicky, slightly spicy blend of dill, black pepper, brown mustard seed, garlic, coriander, kosher salt, allspice, bay leaf, and California chile. Try it mixed into some Greek yogurt with some chopped pickles and a splash of lemon juice for a pickl-y twist on tzaziki. Or sprinkle it on your popcorn... or use it to season your next vinaigrette... or take your tuna salad to the next level. The possibilities are ENDLESS!!
Shawarma Mia! - This is my take on the spice blend used to make shawarma, a delightful dish that originated in the Ottoman Empire and consists of stacking sliced meat and roasting it slowly in front of a vertical rotisserie. (If it sounds like Al Pastor, you're right. Al Pastor is essentially descended from the shawarma that Lebanese immigrants to Mexico were making in the 1930s.) This blend of garlic, pepper, allspice, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, kosher salt, arbol chile, and oregano is obviously fantastic on chicken or beef, but will also get you doing a happy dance around some roasted veggies.
Have a lovely rest of the week, and happy cooking!!!
