Holé Molé Hot Honey

Updated: Oct 24, 2023

Are you a sweet and spicy fan? If the answer is yes, then this Holé Molé Hot Honey is the perfect little recipe for you! It's sweet. It's spicy. It's smoky. And it's way more complex than a 5-minute recipe has any right to be thanks to my Holé Molé, which is packed with pasilla chiles, guajillo chiles, arbol chiles, California chiles, New Mexico chiles, star anise, cinnamon, bay leaf, coriander, pepitas, sesame seeds, achiote, oregano, cumin and cocoa powder.

You can drizzle it on pizza, fried chicken, a peanut butter and banana sandwich, grilled stone fruit, vanilla ice cream.... basically anywhere you want a sweet and spicy kick of flavor. The possibilities are truly endless!

Holé Molé Hot Honey

Makes 1 cup (8 fluid ounces)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup honey (I like the flavor of clover honey, but use whatever type you like best)

  • 2 teaspoons Holé Molé

Directions:

Stir together the honey and Holé Molé in a small saucepan. Bring just to a simmer over medium-low, and then remove from heat. Do not allow to boil or simmer too long or you'll end up with hard-as-rock honey. Allow to cool completely and then transfer to a sterile glass jar. Store at room temperature and use anywhere you want a sweet and spicy kick of flavor.
